 TEACHING PRACTICES SESSION 1
12th AUGUST 2024 - NOVEMBER 8TH 2024

             INTRODUCTION 


Teaching practice in schools is a critical phase in teacher education, where aspiring educators apply theoretical knowledge in real classroom settings. This hands-on experience allows trainee teachers to develop practical skills, refine instructional strategies, and build classroom management techniques under the guidance of experienced mentors. By engaging directly with students, trainee teachers gain invaluable insights into diverse learning needs, effective lesson planning, and dynamic teaching methodologies, ultimately preparing them to become competent and reflective educators.


         AYUR JAWAHAR HSS 





As part of the B. Ed curriculum, we, the students of KUCTE Anchal Batch 2023-25, are required to complete our first teaching practice session from June 6, 2024, to November 8th, 2024. This involves 44 days of teaching practice at a school. For this purpose, 11students from our batch, including two specializing in Physical Science, three in English, and two in Natural Science,two in Malayalam, two in social science have selected Govt.ayur jawahar hss kollam

Our diverse group brings different perspectives and teaching styles to our practice, enriching our learning experience and benefiting the students. This blog contains the experiences I gained from each day of the teaching practice session.

                        WEEK 1
                         DAY 1
                   12/08/2024
                      MONDAY
 Aise part of 3rd semester in B.Ed curriculum I got ayur Jawahar school for teaching practice. The teaching practice period is from 12th August to September 2nd, because there is after September 2nd Onam exams are scheduled for the students so there is no need to teach the childrens in between the Onam exam and then the next phase is from September 24th to November 8. The parts to be taught has already been brought from the teacher of the school.
      Today being the first day of teaching practice I reached school at exactly 9:30 a.m. After everyone came by handling the register we came to the principal office to meet the deepa miss. The principal Deepa mam gave us necessary instruction about things and teachings in school.
 After signing the attendance register we start our day and went to the classroom alloted for ourselves. We met the Biology teacher name honey and got the time table of 8 and 9th class. The teacher gave us some instruction. Today in English medium class there was no Biology period but in Malayalam medium class 8b it was the second period, so with my friend Abirami I went to the 8th B classroom. After interacting with the students we asked them to ask if they have any doubt about from the already taken lesson.
      They were revised the chapter because Honey teacher conducted a text paper on the next day. After that we ended the sixth period of class 10 b, because there were no teachers due to the already completed portion in that class. They to have a students to revise the chapter and if they had any doubt be told them to ask. At the last period a teacher meeting was conducted by principal so that all the train it teachers where asked to join each class I enter to the 9b class and after the entry I gave the may platform to demonstrate their skills like dancing singing mono act etc. At 4:00 p.m. the bell rank and all the childrens left the school.
    After making sure that all the childrens left the school we went to the office to sign the attendance register and we left School.


                        DAY 2
                   13/08/2024
                      TUESDAY

 The second day of my teaching practice at tyre Jawahar High School come and with a sense of familiarity and confidence, building on the experience of the previous day. I reached school at exactly 9:30 a.m. today and begin by signing on the register. Today is an assembly day so all the students were gathered on the ground in front of the school. The Assembly was conducted by 8th standard students it was a very nice assembly. After that hm Deepa mam said about a charity service for donating clothes and some Intense to Ashraya a poor home. After the Assembly We moved to our room and engaged in our work. This inside help me to define my approach for my own classes ensuring more effective learning environment.
      
        My first class of that day was with 8th standard students at 4th period teaching them the third unit let's regain our field a topic in their curriculum. I employeedi a combination of lecture and chart presentation, discussion and give activities encouraging active participation and critical thinking of the students. Students responded Bell demonstrating a free interest in the subject matter asking insightful full question.
        
     After that period I left the class and go to our allowed it classroom and done my works. During the lunch break be served the students food and then we eat our food. After the lunch we have the duty to teach the students who are weak in reading and writing Malayalam and English. This informal setting allowed me to connect with them on a personal love posting a positive teachers student relationship.
   
                At 4:00 p.m. the bell ranks and all the childrens left the school after that we went to the office to sign the attendance register and we left School.


     
                       DAY -3
                  14/08/2024
                 WEDNESDAY 

 Today was my 3rd day of teaching practice at ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 a.m. and started the day by singing the register. The morning assembly was conducted by class 9A and it was a very impressive to see the students take charge and showcase their talent. What caught my attention was the quiz competition conducted by the students at the end of the assembly. It was a great way to engage the students and encourage healthy competition.
     
    After the Assembly I moved to my allowed classroom and engaged in doing my works. I had a substitution period instead of the maths period at the fifth period in class 8A. And my class was after the lunch break. It was a bit nervous but the students welcome to me warmly. I tried to make the lesson interactive and enjoyable, and the students responded positively.
        At 4:00 p.m. the school bill rank and all the childrens left the school. After that we went to the office to signed the attendance register and then we left the school. As i reflect on the day events I realise that I am becoming more confident and comfortable in the classroom.


                    DAY -4
               15/08/2024
                THURSDAY 


 Today the 4th day of our teaching practice I reached the school at 8:45 a.m. today, because it was a momentous day. The event comments with a Solemn  flag hosting ceremony, followed by vibrant cultural program that is showcasing the students talent patriotic song dance and speech filled the atmosphere with a national pride and enthusiasm.
    This program was a tribute to the nation have heroes and a reminder for the significance of independence. As I watch the student teacher come together to celebrate the important day I felt great full to be a part of this community. The experience that I gained was enriching and also gained inside into organisation and conducting School events.

     After the program the students where distributed some sweets to all them present there. After the national anthem the program came to an end. We taken the pictures and after seeing the hm Deba mam we leave the school by 11 a.m. 



         
                         DAY -5
                    16/08/2024
                         FRIDAY


Today was my fifth day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School. I reached school at 9:30 am, feeling a bit nervous but also excited to start my lessons.

The day began with signing the register, which has become a routine now. After signing, I headed to my allotted classroom to prepare for my lessons.

Since there was no assembly today due to heavy rain, I was able to focus on my lessons without any interruptions. My first class was with 8A at the 3rd period, and I taught them about Native Variety Centre Agriculture Organisation and Modern Agriculture Practices. The students were engaged and responsive, which made the lesson enjoyable.

After a short lunch break, I took my last class of the day with 9A and taught them about the Human Respiratory System from Chapter 4: Respiration and Excretion. Although the students were initially hesitant, they eventually warmed up to the topic.

As the day came to an end, the school bell rang at 4 pm, and all the children left. I signed out of the register and left the school, feeling fulfilled after a productive day of teaching.

                       DAY -6
                  19/08/2024
                     MONDAY 



Today was another engaging day at Jawahar High School. I arrived at 8:30 AM and began preparing for my classes. The morning started with a productive staff meeting, discussing upcoming events and sharing best practices.

My first few periods flew by quickly, and before I knew it, it was time for lunch. The school serves a nutritious meal, and today's menu consisted of vegetable biryani, sambar, and papad. The students and staff gathered in the courtyard, enjoying their lunch and socializing.

After lunch, I had a substitute class for 9A in the 5th period. Initially, I was assigned to teach a different class, but the math teacher's absence led to a last-minute change. I adapted quickly and made the most of the opportunity to engage with a new group of students.

The 6th period was dedicated to duty work. I was assigned to correct exam sheets for the state eligibility test, specifically for the 9th-grade students. This task required attention to detail, as I carefully marked scores and recorded them in a scoresheet. It was a valuable experience, allowing me to understand the assessment process and evaluate student performance.

As the day drew to a close, I reflected on my experiences and the lessons learned. I packed up my belongings and left the school at 4:00 PM, feeling fulfilled and ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.


                     DAY -7
                21/8/2024
               WEDNESDAY 

Today was my 7th day of teaching practice, and it was a unique day with some unexpected twists.

I arrived at school at 8:30 AM and began preparing for my classes. The morning started with a productive staff meeting, discussing upcoming events and sharing best practices.

My first three periods flew by quickly, and then I conducted a biology test paper in class 10B. The students were well-prepared, and I was impressed with their focus and determination.

After the test, I had a surprise substitution in 4th period for class 9A, as their English teacher was attending a UGC NET exam. I revised the topic of food plate and nutrition in Amoeba and Hydra from the chapter "Digestion and Transportation of Nutrients" to help them prepare for their Onam examination. The students were engaged and responsive, and I enjoyed teaching them.

With no further classes, I utilized the time to complete my tasks in the allowed classroom. At 4:00 PM, the school day concluded with the belt ranks, and the children left the premises. I signed the register and departed from school at 4:30 PM.


                        DAY -8
                  22/08/2024
                    THURSDAY



Today was my eighth day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 AM and started the day by signing the register.
After signing in, I headed to my allocated classroom to prepare for the day's lessons. The morning assembly was cancelled due to heavy rain.

At 3rd & 4th periods: Class 8A - Biology
Preparing Observation Material, Cell Discovery, and Cell Theory
5th period: Class 9A - Biology
Digestion and Transport of Nutrients (Chapter 2)
The lessons went smoothly! I engaged the students effectively, and they showed keen interest in the topics. They participated actively during the classes.
The school bell rang at 4:00 PM, signaling the end of the day. The students left, and I signed out of the register before departing.

Today was a productive day. I felt more confident in my teaching abilities. I managed the classes efficiently and adapted to the changes in the schedule due to the rain.
I realized the importance of flexibility and being prepared for unexpected situations.


                        DAY-9
                  23/08/2024
                       FRIDAY 


Today, September [Date], marked my 9th day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 am, signed the register, and headed to my assigned classroom. Due to heavy rain, the morning assembly was cancelled. I taught Class 8A about Plant Cell and Cell Organelles during periods 3-4, engaging them in an interactive learning experience. 
           After serving school lunch to students at 12:40 pm, I assisted certain students in reading Malayalam from 1:30 pm. Period 6 was dedicated to conducting the NASA examination for Class 9 students. The school day concluded at 4:00 pm, and I signed out. Today highlighted effective classroom management and adaptability in teaching strategies. I'm committed to continuously improving learning outcomes and addressing student difficulties.

                   TUESDAY 


 Today was supposed to be my teaching practice day at school, but unfortunately I couldn't make it. I woke up feeling unwell with a fever.  My body ached all over, and I knew I wasn't in any condition to teach. So I took a leave. I informed our principal optional teacher school hm and my concern teacher.

                    THURSDAY 

 I could not go to school even today because the fever did not subside. I new I wasn't in a good condition to teach. So today also I took a leave. I informed our principal,optional teacher,school hm and my concern teacher.

                         FRIDAY 

 Today arts day was conducted at ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9 a.m. I started the day by signed in the attendance register. The day was a vibrant shok is so student stalin's in music,arts,dance. Vibrant colour and indricate designs filled the corridors. I supervised events impressed by student enthusiasm  and team work during singing, dancing. Highlights include students confidently showcasing their talents collaboration among students and teachers and parents Pride. Ask the day closed I felt great full to be a part of this event, reminded of the important of nurturing creativity and community in schools.

                     DAY -13
                   2/9/2024
                    MONDAY


Today, Day 13 of my Teaching Practice at Ayur Jawahar School, was a productive day. I arrived at 9:30 a.m. and began by signing the attendance register. With no assembly, I headed straight to my classroom to prepare for my lessons. My teaching schedule consisted of teaching 8A about Nucleus, Prokaryotes, and Eukaryotes in 2nd and 4th periods, and 9A about Heart and its Functioning from Chapter 2: Digestion and Transport of Nutrients in the 5th period. School dismissed early at 12:45 p.m. due to Onam exams starting tomorrow. 
               
         As the bell rang, students eagerly left, and my colleagues and I ensured everything was in order, labeling desks with roll numbers before signing out and heading home. I reflected on key takeaways: effective lesson planning and execution, engaging students in Biology concepts, and adapting to altered school schedules. It was a fulfilling day, and I look forward to continuing my teaching practice.



                           DAY 14 
                      24/09/2024
                         TUESDAY



Today, September [Insert Date], marked my 14th day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 am and signed the attendance register at 9:45 am before heading to my allotted classroom. With no assembly scheduled, the day began with a prayer, and I had a lighter schedule due to no classes for 8th and 9th standards. However, I received Onam examination papers for 9th and 10th classes to correct, which kept me engaged.

          
          I utilized the time efficiently, correcting papers, preparing lesson plans, and interacting with students in other classes. After a 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm lunch break, where I served food to students and had lunch with colleagues, I continued correcting papers and assisted colleagues in the afternoon. 
       
As the school bell rang at 4:00 pm, signaling the students' departure, I reflected on the day's productivity despite reduced classes and effective time management. Tomorrow's goals include completing correction work and developing interactive lesson plans. With a satisfying day behind me, I signed out at 4:15 pm and left school, looking forward to the next day's challenges.

                   25/09/2024
                   WEDNESDAY 

 Today my 15th day of teaching practice at ayur Jawahar School begin with my arrival at 9:30 a.m. within no assembly schedule that I focused on my class of sarvation day by our optional teacher. I sweapped periods with the Malayalam teacher to teach the 9th A Class during the second period and received valuable feedback despite having no other teaching period.
   
           I stayed productive by correcting exam paper for the 9th class and utilising free time for preparation and paper work. After at it 12:45 PM -1.45PM lunch break where I served food it to students and it dined with colleagues I continued with the correction work and Reflection on my teaching experience. The school day concluded at your 4:00 p.m. with students departing and me  signed out. Reflecting on the day I appreciated the teaching experience constructive feedback and productive use of time. Tomorrow golds include implementing observation feedback and enhancing lesson plan.

                     THURSDAY




Today, Day 16 of my teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, began with my arrival at 9:30 am, followed by signing the attendance register and heading to my allotted classroom. The 10th A class conducted the assembly, showcasing students' enthusiasm. With no teaching periods assigned, I utilized the time for observation and preparation. I observed colleagues' teaching methods, prepared lesson plans, and interacted with students during lunch. 

               
            After the 12:45-1:45 pm lunch break, where I served food to students and had lunch with colleagues, I continued preparation work and assisted colleagues. The school day concluded at 4:00 pm, and I signed out at 4:15 pm. Reflecting on the day, I valued observing the assembly and colleagues' teaching styles, finding it productive despite no teaching assignments. Tomorrow's goals include implementing new teaching strategies and engaging students in interactive activities.

Today marked my 17th day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, and it was a day filled with diverse experiences. My day began at 9:30 am with my arrival at school, followed by signing the attendance register, a routine that has become second nature to me. Afterwards, I headed to my designated classroom, eager to tackle the day's schedule. The morning started with 10th A's assembly, which showcased the students' enthusiasm and energy.


My teaching assignment for the day was the 5th period in 10th B class, where I corrected exam papers and delivered an engaging lesson. I was pleased with how effectively I managed the classroom, creating a conducive environment for learning. The lunch break from 12:45-1:45 pm provided a welcome respite, during which I served food to the students and shared a meal with my colleagues.

                  The afternoon was dedicated to the General PTA meeting, which commenced at 2:00 pm and concluded at 3:30 pm. This meeting offered valuable insight into parent-teacher interactions, allowing me to understand the importance of collaboration and communication between educators and guardians.

             Reflecting on the day, I found it incredibly productive, with opportunities to teach, correct exam papers, and engage with parents. Tomorrow, my goals are to build upon today's momentum, focusing on innovative lesson plans that cater to my students' diverse needs. As the PTA meeting drew to a close at 3:30 pm, the school bell rang at 4:00 pm, signaling the end of the school day. I signed out at 4:15 pm, feeling fulfilled and prepared for the challenges ahead.

On the 18th day of my teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, I arrived at 9:30 am and began the day by signing the attendance register. Today's schedule was unique, as 10th B class conducted the school assembly, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. Although I didn't have any teaching periods assigned, I utilized the time to prepare upcoming lessons, organize materials, and engage with colleagues. 


       At 12:45 pm, the lunch break allowed me to serve food to students and bond with my peers over a meal. As the school day drew to a close, the 4:00 pm bell signaled the students' departure, and I signed out, reflecting on the day's experiences.This day reinforced valuable skills, including:
- Effective time management during non-teaching periods
- Collaboration with colleagues
- Observation of student-led initiatives 

              
Despite not teaching any classes, today's experience underscored the importance of flexibility, teamwork, and continuous preparation in teaching practice, further enhancing my growth as an educator.

Today, the 20th day of my teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, began with my arrival at 9:30 am. I started the day by signing the attendance register, followed by heading to my allotted classroom to prepare for the day's lessons. Notably, there was no assembly conducted today, allowing me to focus on my teaching assignments. My schedule included teaching 10th B class during the 3rd period, where I delivered an engaging lesson on protozoa diseases. In the 4th period, I taught 8th class, reviewing the portion on food security and fertility from the chapter "Let's Regain the Field." This opportunity allowed me to assess students' understanding and reinforce key concepts.


                The lunch break at 12:45 pm provided a welcome respite, during which I assisted in serving food to the students and shared a meal with my colleagues. Today, Abhirami, Febin, and I were assigned assembly duty, ensuring the students' orderly gathering and dismissal. As the school day concluded at 4:00 pm, the bell signaled the students' departure. After signing out, I reflected on the day's accomplishments and areas for improvement.

Today, the 21st day of my teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, began with my arrival at 9:30 am. I commenced the day by signing the attendance register, followed by heading to my allotted classroom to prepare for the day's lessons. Notably, there was no assembly conducted today, allowing me to focus on my teaching assignments. My schedule was relatively light, with only one period allocated for 10th B class at the 5th period.


             Before lunch, I utilized the time to organize materials, review lesson plans, and engage with colleagues. At 12:45 pm, the lunch break provided a welcome respite, during which I assisted in serving food to the students and shared a meal with my peers. Post-lunch, I took my 10th B class, delivering an engaging lesson on lifestyle diseases. The students demonstrated keen interest in the topic, and I encouraged active participation through discussions and examples.


As the school day drew to a close, the 4:00 pm bell signaled the students' departure. Following the exodus, I signed out, reflecting on the day's accomplishments and areas for improvement. Today's experience reinforced my ability to adapt to varied class schedules, effectively manage time, and engage students in meaningful discussions.

                     DAY-22
                   7/10/2024
                    MONDAY



Today, the 22nd day of my teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School, was a memorable one, marked by the gentle patter of rain outside. I arrived at 9:30 am and began the day by signing the attendance register. With no assembly conducted, I headed to my allotted classroom to prepare for the day's lessons. The rain-soaked day brought an added layer of calmness to the school atmosphere.


My schedule included a substitution period for 9th A class in the 3rd period, where I taught the portion on respiration in animals. Later, I had my regular period with 10th B class in the 6th period, focusing on cancer. Despite the gloomy weather, the students remained engaged and responsive. At 12:45 pm, the lunch break provided a welcome respite, during which I assisted in serving food to the students and shared a meal with my colleagues.


Post-lunch, I took another period with 10th B, reinforcing the concept of lifestyle diseases. The students demonstrated keen interest, and I encouraged active participation through discussions and examples. As the school day concluded at 4:00 pm, the bell signaled the students' departure. Following the exodus, I signed out, reflecting on the day's accomplishments and areas for improvement.


                        DAY 23
                   8/10/2024
                     TUESDAY


I arrived at Ayur Jawahar School at 9:30 AM, beginning the day by signing the register. Today was scheduled as an assembly day, but surprisingly, the assembly didn't take place, and the reason remained unknown. I proceeded to my assigned classroom to prepare for the day's lessons.

My teaching assignment was 8A during the third period, where I effectively delivered a lesson on pest control methods from the chapter "Let's Regain Our Field." The students actively participated, demonstrating their grasp of sustainable agricultural practices. The lunch break at 12:45 PM provided a welcome respite, during which I helped serve food to the students before enjoying my own meal.

Following lunch, I was assigned duty to conduct the State Achievement Test for Class 9. After completing this task, I utilized the remaining time to attend to my tasks. As the school day drew to a close, the 4:00 PM bell signaled the students' departure. I formally concluded my day by signing out in the register, reflecting on the lessons learned and experiences gained. This teaching practice continues to shape me into a more effective educator.




                        DAY -24
                     9/10/2024
                    WEDNESDAY 


Today, October 9, 2024, marked my 24th day of teaching practice at Ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 am, eager to tackle another productive day. After signing the attendance register, I headed to my allotted classroom to organize materials and tackle tasks.

With no assembly scheduled, the morning commenced quietly. I utilized this time to focus on my responsibilities, completing pending tasks and preparing materials. Since I didn't have any teaching periods, I devoted myself to supporting colleagues and observing classes.


The lunch break at 12:45 pm provided a welcome respite. We ensured the students received their mid-day meal before enjoying our own lunch. This brief interlude allowed for relaxation and staff bonding.

Post-lunch, I dedicated myself to correcting NAAS exam sheets, meticulously reviewing student responses. This exercise helped me better understand student strengths and weaknesses.


At 2:30 pm, the high school section embarked on a school cleaning initiative, fostering teamwork and responsibility among students. Witnessing their enthusiasm and dedication to maintaining their environment was inspiring.


As the school day drew to a close, the 4:00 pm bell signaled the students' departure. We bid farewell to our young learners and signed out in the register, formally concluding another fulfilling day.

Today highlighted the value of productive use of time, teamwork, and attention to detail. I appreciated the opportunity to support colleagues, engage in reflective tasks, and observe students' civic-mindedness.

                      10/10/2024
                    WEDNESDAY 


Today was a unique day at Ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at 9:30 AM and began by signing the attendance register, marking the start of my day. Since it wasn't an assembly day, I headed straight to my allocated classroom to prepare for my teaching duties.

My schedule was relatively light today, with only one period in 10B during the 6th period. However, fate had other plans. The afternoon section PTA meeting for class 10 took precedence, and I missed my class. Although initially disappointed, I utilized this unexpected free time to tackle pending tasks.

With no teaching responsibilities for the day, I focused on organizing my lesson plans, updating my teaching records, and preparing materials for upcoming classes. This break allowed me to recharge and ensure I'm well-prepared for future lessons.

As the school day drew to a close, the bell rang at 4:00 PM, signaling the departure of students. I wrapped up my tasks, signed out in the register, and reflected on the day's events. Though my teaching schedule was disrupted, I remained productive and utilized the time effectively. This experience reminded me of the flexibility required in teaching and the importance of adapting to unexpected changes.

                           DAY -26
                        14/10/2024
                          MONDAY 

 Today was on unique day at ayur Jawahar School. I arrived at the 9:30 a.m. and begin by signing the attendance register marking the start  of my day. Since it wasn't an assembly day I hate that straight to my allocated classroom to prepare for my teaching duties. My schedule was relatively light today, with only one period in 10 be during the 6th period. However fate had other plans.
   
            The afternoon section PTA meeting for class 10 to the precedence and I missed my class. Bol do initially disappointed I utilised this unexpected free time to track the pending task. Within no teaching responsibilities for the day I focus to an organising my lesson plans updating my teaching record and preparing material for upcoming classes. This break allowed to meet you recharge and ensure I will prepare for future lesson.

 
     As the school day due to a close the bill rank at 4:00 p.m. signaling the departure of students. I wrap that my task sign out in the register and reflector on the day events. Most students didn't attend school, resulting in noticeably low attendance.

Only one period was conducted before the school's long bell rang, signaling an early dismissal. All students left the school premises. After seeking permission from the Headmaster, I also left the school at 12 PM without signing out in the register, as instructed by the Principal. Apparently, I would sign out the next morning. Despite the chaos, I utilized the available time to organize my lesson plans and reflect on my teaching strategies. This experience taught me the importance of adaptability and flexibility in teaching. Tomorrow promises to be a more productive day.

I had a scheduled period in 8A at 3rd period. Additionally I received a substitution period in class 8 at the second period covering for prince sir who was on leave. I told the portion on the reaping diversity, floriculture and apiculture.

       After teaching I focused on my responsibilities until the interval Lunch was served to the students at 12:45 p.m. followed by the staff meal. Attitude p.m. the principle in formed the training leader to share the information with the other that to collect items for donation to ashraya Charity as they would be visiting tomorrow. These initiative highlighted the school commitment to community service.

       As the school day conclude that the 4:00 p.m. Bell signal dismissal. The students depicted and I find out in that register before leaving. Today Bose and full filling day balancing teaching responsibility with the Social awareness.
